Alltag in der Arbeit der Archäologen: Am Sankelmarker See legten sie ein Grab der Bronzezeit frei. Die erhofften wertvollen Funde kamen nicht ans Licht. Spuren zeigen, dass Grabräuber in der Vergangenheit schneller waren.

Finding 2,500-year-old bones in Ohio
On the site beside the Scioto River, the archaeologists had found fire pits dating to about 550 B.C., shards of pottery, even traces of an ancient building.
This week, Ryan Weller and his team found something more: a human skeleton, buried on the riverbank by his or her loved ones as long as 2,500 years ago.
What's more, the skeleton might have company...

7000 Years History of Kandovaan Will be Kept Safe
In reaction to the recent news of destroying a 7000-year old cave in Kandovaan village with the aim of constructing a public sauna bath by the Kandovaan Laleh Hotel, the head of eastern Azerbaijan CHTO strongly denied the news.
"Naaser Doost", head of eastern Azerbaijan CHTO indicated: "until this moment of speaking, none of the Historical or pre- Historical heritages of Kandovaan has been demolished in order to build a public Sauna or any other amenities for the Kandovaan Laleh Hotel."...

Antique glass jar discovered in Palmyra
The national archaeological mission operating in the southwestern cemeteries in Palmyra discovered a unique glass jar in one grave of the newly discovered cemeteries which dates back to the second century A. D.
Inside the jar ashes of bones of infants were founded which indicates a new impact related to the funeral habits inside graves that was not known previously...

Ancient city found in East China
Archaeologists have discovered the remains of an ancient city in eastern Zhejiang Province. The find is expected to shed more light on the long history of Chinese civilization.
The discovery was made near Mojiao Mountain between Liangzhu and Pingyao townships in Hangzhou. The ancient city appears to cover an area of about three square kilometers. There are still pieces of walls as high as four meters at the site...
